Fudge, Here is one for you
Hi, I realised i am not as grounded in my religion as I would like to be... As such, I was a little affected by the Isarel Lebanon conflict after following it for so mnay days...
So there will be something light today.
Anyway, I was surfing my friend blog when I came across a pictures of his and suddenly a voice rang out in my heard ,' hey, i can do something abt that.'
Software: I am using Adobe Photoshop 5.5
The origial Pic

Using Magnetic Lasso: I selected him. For those who did not know about magnetic lasso, press L in photoshop. you will select the lasson tool. Now in the tool bar, press on Lasso tool until the lasso tool shows you more option and select magnetic lasso.
For Photoshop 7.0 or higher, just go up and change the lasso to magnetic lasso

Make 3 copies... just in case i cock up something...
Ya. The second copies is to backup. You don't want to be lassoing the whole thing when something cock up.

Using levels(Ctrl+L) to make the picture 'less dark'
For those using Photoshop 7.0 or better, I would suggest to just play with auto level, contrast and curves. They are quite well developed in the later versions.

Curves(Ctrl+M) to make it absolutely lightened up. For those wondering about curves, basically, the x axis shows you the darkness of the pic and the y axis, the brightness you wish to replace it with. So in other words. The one to your right will be lighter and if you shift the curve down, the brighter part will be darker.

Eek! Ghosts?
Ya... The thing why i am going so is because of the next step. Now I reduced the opacity of the layer till I am satisfied with it.
I very much prefer this way as the color difference will stay about the same making the thing looks natural and not edited

The Final Product...

Oh well... I did not count in the reduced in resolution that would happen when i converted to jpeg format. dupe....-_-
