Society. Part II

The Notion of country before society and society before self is very important.

There is no country that will be booming forever. The fate of a country directly affect the society and the citizens in it. Hence, it is of upmost importance that to every citizen, there is a mentality of 'giving back to the society'. To help out the society even before one reach his own career goal. This notion is particular important in this world today.

Let's just take a look at 2 society, 1 with the citizen that has a notion of society before self, the other... well...

In the Kobe Earthquake in Japan, Even the Yakuza came out to help those that are in need. The society as a whole was basically united. Those that were not hurt at all were helping those that were. Minimum lookting occurs.

A shopkeeper who was seen guarding his shop against looters. When approached by a smug reporter on who are the looters, He shoot back, "No, they are foreigners."

It is often say that in adversity, the true charactereristic of a man would appear. There could not be more true. Japan, after a major disaster, their society were more concerned about the well being of the sick and injured than any other thing.

Looting, rapes, morals evil were not spread at all.

So it would not be a surprise that despite being a small country, (relatively to others) They can be the world second largest economy after the USA straight after losing the great war.

The power of unity is no more than reflected here.

Now, let's take a look at Katrine...

It is true that aids arrived late and that people were homeless. But I don think that that alone give anybody, anybody the rights to shoot at cops and to loot, to rape kids and such. Those people were just thinking of themselves...
